How It Works
Sealing
Your 'document' is examined and a 'fingerprint' of the document is produced.
This will provide data on 'What' is sealed
This fingerprint is combined with the users details.
To show 'Who' sealed the document.
This is then encoded with the time obtained from an internationally verifiable time source.
To show 'When' it was sealed

All this information is inserted into an HTML format seal file and zipped together with the original file.
This zipped package is returned to the user as a 'sealed package'
A record of the seal creation, but NOT the original file, will be maintained on our server database.
This database entry can provide further evidence of seal creation in case of a copyright dispute.
Unlike other similar services we do NOT keep your original work so there is no risk to your work and no ongoing data storage fees.

Validation
To check the validity of a seal, the files in a zipped sealed package must be extracted to a folder.
Clicking on the the seal file, which will have a name similar to .......Seal_20071120140827.892Z.html will open the seal file in Internet Explorer.
Clicking the validate button within the seal will submit the seal to a validation server for checking.
The validation server will check that all the information in the seal is accurate and that neither the seal, nor the original document, have been changed in ANY WAY.
Note: The validation server does not need access to the original document or the seal database to successfully validate a seal,
